Paterson Task Force for Community Action (PTF)

Paterson Task Force for Community Action, Inc. (PTF) is the officially designated community action agency for the city of Paterson, New Jersey. Our mission is to help the poor improve their quality of life and to become self-sufficient by addressing the causes as well as the effects of poverty.

Paterson Employability Boutique
Established in November 2015, the “Boutique” serves low-income clients who need business attire for job interviews, and their first week of work. The Boutique serves both men and women.  This program seeks to support disadvantaged men and women by providing professional attire and a network of support for their career development. We have served over 40 clients.

The Food and Nutrition Program
This program is funded through the State of New Jersey Department of Agriculture, the mission of this program is to provide no-cost meals, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack to Preschool and after-school children in the Paterson area. This program year, which operates from October 1st – September 30th, we provided 614 children with meals and/or snacks per day.

We provide clients in crisis situations with bagged groceries, clothing and referrals to other agencies when necessary. We also provide Thanksgiving food baskets, toys and gifts for the holiday season, furniture and household items to clients leaving our shelters or fire victims, and client referrals from other agencies.
