Grandparents as Parents (GAP)

Grandparents as Parents (GAP)

Are you a grandparent or relative caregiver who is raising a child?
Do you need information and support?

Grandparents have always played an important role in the lives of their grandchildren. Today, because families face many problems, thousands of grandparents in the United States, New Jersey and here in Passaic County have become “parents the second time around,” providing safe and loving homes to children who would otherwise be in the foster care system.

GAP is a network of grandparents, service providers, community leaders and educators working together on behalf of grandparent and other relative caregiver families. GAP gives voice to the needs and concerns of grandparents/caregivers who are raising  children because their parents are no longer able or willing to do so. GAP offers community forums, educational programs, and a support network of advocates.
